Other Alaska Fish Species

Silver Salmon and Steelhead are not the only quarry that we pursue at Tsiu River Lodge. Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon and Dolly Varden Char are also present in the river and are often caught incidentally by anglers.

Alaska Sockeye Salmon

Early in our season there is a run of Sockeye Salmon in the Tsiu River. If you are here in some of the first weeks, you may encounter these bright red fish and will be tempted to cast at them being that they are such a visible target.

Alaska Pink Salmon

Pink Salmon or Chum Salmon are also present in the river during September and are caught incidentally and will give you a good fight. The Dolly Varden are always present and can add some diversity to your fishing day. We can also arrange halibut fishing trips in the Yakutat area up on request.
